Direct Care Counselor

The Direct Care Counselor role is onsite in Dorchester, MA. Compensation is $20 per hour. A&E United provides residential support services for youth, with the counselor working within the agency’s program and site procedures. The counselor helps ensure clients receive appropriate care, follows daily schedules and treatment goals, supervises activities, and communicates with house management and staff. The role supports residents’ safety, daily routines, and participation in the community.

What you'll do

• Cover assigned shifts and review daily logs
• document client encounters
• ensure clients receive proper care
• follow and enforce program schedules
• serve meals
• supervise activities
• help carry out treatment plans and ISP goals
• redirect inappropriate behavior according to treatment goals and house standards
• communicate medical needs and unusual incidents to management
• maintain the home according to agency standards
• encourage participation in house routines and community integration
• provide transportation when necessary
• attend weekly meetings and training.
