The Principal Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. The posting gives a compensation range of $79.32–$100 per hour and a minimum of 40 hours per week. System One is seeking the engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting combined-cycle power generation projects. The engineer leads electrical engineering from conceptual design through commissioning and startup, setting design criteria and overseeing systems and technical deliverables. The role coordinates multidisciplinary teams, supports procurement and project execution, and provides technical direction to engineers and designers.
What you'll do
- Lead electrical engineering for combined-cycle power generation projects from conceptual design through commissioning and startup
- establish electrical design criteria and standards
- oversee generator and auxiliary systems, power distribution, protection and control, grounding, lighting, and raceway designs
- coordinate with instrumentation and control systems
- direct and review engineering work
- review calculations, drawings, specifications, and deliverables
- coordinate with other engineering and project teams
- support estimates, procurement, constructability and design reviews, construction, commissioning, and startup
- interface with clients and project leadership
- mentor engineers.
