What you'll do

• Gather and report vital signs
• communicate pertinent patient information to the RN
• place patients in rooms as requested
• attach cardiac monitors and perform 12-lead EKGs
• provide oxygen as ordered and supervised
• perform venipuncture and establish saline locks under direct RN supervision
• assist with wound care, orthopedic care, procedures, patient transport, ambulation, and dismissal as requested
• support triage and maintain visibility at the ED entrance
• check waiting areas for cleanliness and safety
• stock supplies, clean equipment, transport specimens, and assist registration as needed.
