Power Electronics Principal Engineer

Job overview

The Power Electronics Principal Engineer role is onsite in Round Rock, TX, in office, laboratory, and industrial environments; compensation is $40–$45 per hour. The role supports a client’s advanced industrial power conversion and motor drive technologies. The engineer leads complex power electronics programs from concept through production, advancing converter technologies and grid-connected systems. The role contributes through technical direction, design innovation, product qualification, and resolution of field issues.

What you'll do

• Lead architecture, design, and technical direction for power converters, inverters, medium-voltage motor drives, and grid-connected conversion systems
• improve converter performance, efficiency, reliability, and cost
• define requirements and lead design reviews and risk mitigation
• collaborate with controls, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams
• mentor engineers and establish technical standards
• support product qualification, manufacturing, field issue resolution, and R&D roadmaps.

Why this role
