Tool Room Machinist

Job overview

The Tool Room Machinist role is onsite in Elkhorn, WI, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., approximately 40 hours per week, and overtime as needed. Compensation is not specified. Reader Precision Solutions manufactures precision-machined components and uses this role to support production, tooling and research and development work. The machinist builds, repairs and modifies tools, jigs, fixtures, dies and gauges that help keep production running and maintain quality. The role also supports equipment repairs and R&D fabrication through manual machining, measurement and collaboration with production teams.

What you'll do

• Build, repair and modify tools, jigs, fixtures, dies and gauges
• read blueprints and specifications
• set up and operate manual mills, lathes and surface grinders
• reverse engineer simple components when prints are unavailable
• inspect work with precision measuring tools
• support production tooling changes, equipment maintenance, repairs and R&D part fabrication
• maintain a clean and safe work area.
