OS Platform Engineer

The OS Platform Engineer role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA. The base salary range is $160,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity. K2 Space builds high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions. The engineer architects and evolves operating-system capabilities for spacecraft, creating a reliable boundary between system-on-chip complexity and flight software. The work supports secure, reliable spacecraft operation through real-time Linux, boot security, hardware integration, and software development and testing infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant spacecraft control
• maintain a custom real-time Linux distribution and U-Boot
• curate device trees
• build tools for rapid code deployment
• analyze data and investigate anomalies
• support spacecraft subsystem integration and testing
• build and maintain software development and testing infrastructure.
