The Lead Teacher — 2-Year-Old Classroom role is onsite in Tucson, AZ. Compensation is $17–$18 per hour. The Erik Hite Foundation’s Child Development Center serves families of first responders and military members with affordable fees and flexible hours. The teacher leads classroom activities and provides care and early education for two-year-old children. Through lesson planning, supervision, family communication, and daily routines, the role supports children’s development and the center’s partnership with families.

What you'll do

• Update Brightwheel daily
• change diapers
• document children’s development in portfolios and keep parents and administration informed
• conduct biannual parent-teacher conferences
• complete at least 30 training hours annually
• plan developmentally appropriate lessons
• lead and supervise classroom activities
• maintain age-appropriate classroom environments
• work with a co-teacher in select classrooms
• guide children through daily routines
• keep classroom materials and equipment safe and clean.

Why this role

Full-time, 35+ hours, Monday through Friday, with a potentially rotating Saturday shift; at least one year of birth-to-five classroom experience required; valid fingerprint clearance card and TB test required; CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain it; related degree or Child Development Associate preferred.
