The Artistic Director role is onsite in Portland, OR, and pays $55,000 per year. The director leads El Centro Milagro’s artistic vision and theatrical programming, advancing the organization’s mission and contemporary Latino storytelling. The role exists to shape and deliver the theater’s programming while supporting productions, artists, and community relationships. It contributes to Milagro’s goals through season planning, directing, collaboration with artists and staff, public representation, and partnership in fundraising and institutional planning.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a multi-year artistic vision
• curate and oversee annual programming, including MainStage productions, new work development, Day of the Dead productions, and world premieres
• direct at least one production per season and participate in rehearsals, previews, and opening nights
• build relationships with artists, arts organizations, and community partners
• recruit and supervise guest directors, actors, and playwrights
• collaborate with production and technical staff and maintain written production standards
• work with the Executive Director and Business Manager on artistic and program budgets
• report artistic milestones and outcomes to the Board
• represent Milagro’s artistic mission through media, public speaking, and community appearances
• partner with development staff on fundraising support.
