Lead HVAC Design Engineer

The Lead HVAC Design Engineer is an onsite role in Richland, WA, serving the Tri-Cities area. Compensation is $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus bonus. The role supports a mechanical design-build contractor with a Pacific Northwest presence. The engineer leads mechanical design efforts and coordinates project work to support successful HVAC and plumbing projects. Design development, technical problem-solving, and quality control help deliver solutions that meet client and industry standards.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering efforts and coordinate stakeholders, tasks, budgets, and workflows
• support sales with HVAC and plumbing solutions and engineering budgets
• design mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit and AutoCAD
• select equipment, ductwork, and piping and review submittals
• perform HVAC load calculations
• track codes, standards, and technologies
• coordinate with field personnel and external professionals.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, with at least four years of engineering experience. Leadership experience or readiness to lead is required; Washington and/or Oregon Professional Engineer license is strongly desired.
