Job overview

The Director, Project Development role is onsite in Devens, Massachusetts. The annual salary range is $170,000–$250,000, plus equity and benefits. Commonwealth Fusion Systems is working to deliver commercially viable fusion power plants and advance the transition to fusion energy. The director leads development of the first ARC commercial fusion power plant site and builds a repeatable pipeline and process for future projects, coordinating permitting, financing, technical diligence, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.

What you'll do

• Oversee internal teams and external consultants to secure permits, contracts, and entitlements
• manage project schedules and budgets
• establish project development practices and metrics
• maintain diligence records and potential site and partner repositories
• coordinate compliance and technical due diligence
• develop financial projections
• identify and mitigate risks
• lead cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement
• support siting, financing, interconnection, permitting, and licensing activities.
