What you'll do

• Receive patients
• perform phlebotomy, including therapeutic phlebotomy, venipuncture, and finger sticks
• interpret orders and collect appropriate samples
• label, process, and distribute specimens
• prepare request slips and schedule outpatients when appropriate
• relay test requests to technologists
• distribute or call/fax results as appropriate
• enter laboratory orders
• maintain accession logs, supplies, and clean collection areas
• file results and records
• communicate pertinent information to laboratory staff and the director.
