The IT and Communications Technician II role is onsite in Norfolk, VA. Compensation is not specified. The technician installs, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots shipboard IT, communications, and network systems to sustain operational readiness and cybersecurity compliance. The role also documents systems and issues and trains shipboard personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and replace shipboard IT, communications, and network systems
• support Windows workstations, servers, peripherals, and network devices
• resolve Tier I/II hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues
• support LANs, virtualization, and Active Directory
• perform cybersecurity compliance activities including patching, vulnerability scanning, STIG implementation, SCAP assessments, and remediation
• maintain copper and fiber cabling
• coordinate with government personnel, crews, contractors, and technical teams
• maintain technical documentation and inventories
• train military personnel and end users. Requires an active DoD Secret clearance, IAT Level II certification, and five years of relevant experience. Travel to customer sites, naval installations, shipyards, and vessels is required as needed.
