The Construction Liaison & Design Manager is an onsite, full-time role in Somerville, MA. Pay is $75,000–$78,000 annually, plus benefits. The role supports the City of Somerville Infrastructure Department’s work to rebuild aging utility, street, and building infrastructure through community engagement. The manager coordinates design-related outreach and construction impact mitigation so residents, businesses, and other stakeholders can participate in infrastructure planning. The role connects community input with project teams and helps make engagement accessible, organized, and responsive throughout project schedules.

What you'll do

• Create and implement inclusive community engagement strategies for infrastructure projects
• coordinate and facilitate virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings
• communicate technical information to broad audiences
• build stakeholder and community partner relationships
• maintain engagement records
• coordinate interpretation and translation services
• support project managers with oversight of contracted work
• prepare project status updates
• coordinate constituent communications with city departments
• prepare technical responses to 311 Q-Alert requests
• conduct site visits to properties under construction.
