Phlebotomist – Passaic

The Phlebotomist role is onsite in Passaic, NJ, with weekday hours of 8 AM–7 PM. Compensation is not specified. The position reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and may work at multiple locations for Centers Laboratory of New Jersey. The phlebotomist collects and processes blood and other specimens, ensuring correct patient identification, safe collection, accurate labeling and records, and appropriate handling so specimens are ready for testing.

What you'll do

• Identify patients
• prepare supplies and equipment
• prioritize stat, timed, and routine collections
• select an appropriate venipuncture method
• draw and label blood specimens
• follow safety, personal protective equipment, sharps-disposal, and medical-waste procedures
• monitor patients and equipment
• provide aftercare information
• maintain records and confidentiality
• collect and process COVID-19 tests
• use storage and centrifugation procedures if trained.
