Quality Assurance Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Job overview

The Quality Assurance Supervisor role is onsite in Manteno, IL, with a salary range of $60,000–$75,000 per year. Urban Farmer’s plant produces food products, and this role oversees plant quality assurance to support product safety, integrity, and customer satisfaction. The supervisor leads quality activities, audits, documentation, laboratory and sample processes, and staff training. The work helps ensure products and production processes meet internal standards and applicable food safety and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

• Direct plant quality assurance activities, including sanitation, work-in-process and finished-product analysis, package integrity testing, HACCP/GMP compliance, and process control
• conduct plant audits and coordinate improvements
• oversee HACCP plans and records
• review in-process values
• provide daily production quality reports
• supervise the Hold & Release program
• conduct mock recalls
• report and investigate food safety and quality issues
• manage QC lab inventory and sample submissions
• conduct analyses
• provide GMP, HACCP, Food Defense, and Food Safety training
• support technicians and cross-functional teams.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field and experience; 3–5 years of food manufacturing quality assurance supervisory experience; PCQI and HACCP certification; food production environment includes exposure to allergens, cleaning chemicals, variable temperatures, and machinery noise.
