The Procedural Registered Nurse role is permanent, full-time, and onsite in Clive, IA. Compensation is not specified. The nurse supports the Urology Center of Iowa’s clinical team and its urology-focused Interventional Radiology program, including Prostate Artery Embolization and other procedures as the program develops. The nurse provides care across the procedural experience, from assessment and preparation through circulating and moderate sedation responsibilities, recovery, and discharge. The role contributes to safe, patient-centered procedures through monitoring, education, coordination, and collaboration with the Interventional Radiologist and procedural team.
What you'll do
- Complete pre-procedure assessments and verify readiness
- review medical history, medications, allergies, labs, and imaging
- establish IV access and administer ordered medications
- educate patients and families
- communicate clinical concerns
- complete documentation, consent, and safety processes
- circulate during Interventional Radiology procedures
- prepare and administer moderate sedation within applicable requirements
- monitor and document patient status
- recognize changes and initiate interventions
- assist the procedural team
- participate in time-outs and maintain sterile-field integrity
- provide recovery care and discharge education
- coordinate higher-level transfers when indicated
- support nursing workflows and protocols
- maintain emergency equipment and supplies
- participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.

Why this role
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license, accredited nursing-program graduation, and current BLS and ACLS certification are required. Moderate sedation certification is preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held.
