The Parents as Teachers Educator is an onsite, full-time position based in Sigourney, Iowa, serving families in the Iowa, Jefferson, and Keokuk Early Childhood Iowa area. The educator provides family-centered home visits, group programming, assessments, and referrals that help parents support their children’s development and school readiness. The role builds trusting relationships and connects families with resources and partner providers.

What you'll do

• Conduct home visits, group connections, documentation, assessments, and screenings according to Parents as Teachers standards
• build trusting relationships and advocate for families
• maintain case files and a caseload
• provide information and referrals
• collect program data
• plan monthly group socialization activities
• partner with providers
• and travel within the service area.
