Job overview

The Cook role is onsite at Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a Monday–Friday schedule and every other weekend, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Pay is $16–$18 per hour. The cook prepares meals for patients and staff at the medical center. The role supports patient and staff meal service by preparing food to standardized recipes and dietary requirements. It contributes to meal quality and safe kitchen operations through food preparation, sanitation, inventory practices, and coordination with dietary staff.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and dietary requirements
• maintain a clean, organized kitchen following HACCP food-safety guidelines
• assist with plating and presentation
• manage inventory, stock rotation, and portion control
• assist the Lead Cook and Kitchen Manager with meal plans and preparation schedules
• coordinate with dietary staff on patient-specific needs
• follow sanitation and safety practices
• assist with special meals for holidays, events, or celebrations
• participate in team meetings and provide input on menus, food quality, and patient feedback.
