What you'll do
- Architect and oversee electrical systems, subsystems, modules, and components for advanced instrumentation
- work with scientific investigators to define electrical requirements and translate scientific objectives into instrument performance and hardware
- prepare and manage cost and schedule estimates and project resources
- document work and present it to scientists and engineers
- support hardware build, test, integration, and field use
- provide technical leadership to contractors
- select and oversee procurement of components
- direct technicians and designers
- consult with scientists and engineering staff
- travel to telescope sites, vendor facilities, NASA centers, and associated organizations.
