Campus Security Officer

Job overview

Compensation is $14–$15 per year. The Campus Security Officer role is onsite in Salem, WV; The officer supports a safe and secure environment for Salem University students, employees, visitors, facilities, and property. The role provides a visible campus presence, conducts patrols and inspections, responds to incidents, and documents security activity. It contributes to campus safety by identifying concerns, assisting the university community and emergency personnel, and escalating matters that require outside responders or university leadership.

What you'll do

• Maintain a visible security presence
• conduct foot and vehicle patrols and inspections
• monitor campus conditions and report safety or security concerns
• respond to alarms, disturbances, accidents, medical situations, and other incidents
• coordinate with first responders
• assist with emergency notifications and evacuations
• prepare incident reports, patrol logs, and inspection records
• support campus events and parking, traffic, access, and crowd management as assigned.
