What you'll do

• Read and interpret blueprints or plans
• measure, cut, grind, fit, align, and tack-weld steel parts and structures
• build interior structures, hatches, doors, and bulkheads
• attend and qualify through the shipyard welding school
• work at heights and in confined spaces, indoors or outdoors, and in areas with radiation
• pass physical agility and respirator fit tests.
