Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Long Term Care - PRN Days in Belgrade, NE. This is a per diem, onsite position with a salary range of $24.00 - $36.00 per hour. Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of service to seniors. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles and utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards.

What you'll do

• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
• Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document resident interactions and outcomes.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
• Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
• Counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
• Develop a self-care program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education

Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.

Experience

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
