What you'll do

• Select and inspect rigging gear
• calculate or determine load weight, center of gravity, lift-point capacity, and sling angles
• rig, lift, move, position, and set shipboard equipment and materials
• assist with cranes and forklifts when authorized and qualified
• signal operators and control suspended loads
• support vessel movement, mooring, and line handling
• erect and dismantle scaffolding as required
• maintain rigging equipment and safe work areas
• follow shipyard, OSHA, company, and project safety requirements.
