Paralegal — Immigration & Citizenship Legal Assistance

The Paralegal role is onsite in Albuquerque, NM, with compensation of $25–$26.92 per hour. The position supports the Center for Immigration & Citizenship Legal Assistance at Catholic Charities of Central New Mexico, helping immigrant individuals and families access legal services. Working under DOJ Accredited Representatives, the paralegal provides case preparation and administrative support while maintaining accurate records and deadlines. The role helps practitioners deliver organized, compliant, and culturally responsive immigration services, while referring legal questions and decisions to authorized representatives.

What you'll do

• Conduct client intake and gather information
• help clients complete questionnaires and collect documents
• communicate about appointments and authorized case updates
• schedule consultations
• prepare draft immigration forms and supporting documents for practitioner review
• organize filing packets and client files
• track deadlines and case milestones
• process correspondence and government notices
• refer legal questions and strategy decisions to authorized practitioners
• support reporting, grants, clinics, workshops, and outreach
• maintain confidentiality and compliance.

Why this role
