Job overview
The Therapeutic Recreation Intern role is onsite in Carbondale, CO. This is an unpaid internship. Ascendigo Autism Services provides inclusive, strength-based recreational programming for individuals on the autism spectrum. The internship provides experiential learning and supervised fieldwork in therapeutic recreation. Interns support adaptive recreation and person-centered programming while developing skills in program planning, behavior support, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
What you'll do
- Plan and implement therapeutic recreation interventions and activities
- maintain activity reports, progress notes, and incident reports
- communicate with participants and interdisciplinary staff
- attend staff meetings, training, and reflection sessions
- participate in data collection and program evaluation where applicable
- complete academic assignments and requirements.

Why this role
