Senior Propulsion Test Engineer

The Senior Propulsion Test Engineer role is onsite at the Mojave Air & Space Port in Mojave, CA. Compensation is $180,000–$220,000 per year. Impulse Space’s Propulsion Test Team develops and operates test stands for engines and propulsion components supporting the company’s goal of advancing in-space transportation. The engineer conducts liquid rocket propulsion hardware testing and develops the test systems and procedures needed for reliable, high-rate operations. The role also resolves technical issues, improves test efficiency, and mentors early-career engineers in support of spacecraft development and production.

What you'll do

• Conduct liquid rocket propulsion hardware test operations
• perform test setup, inspections, checkouts, and troubleshooting
• create and optimize test sequences and procedures
• improve operational efficiency through process upgrades and hardware solutions
• design and build fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems for high-rate testing
• resolve technical issues
• mentor early-career engineers.
