Health and Fitness Specialist

Job overview

Health and Fitness Specialist in Reston, VA. This is a hybrid position with a salary range of $65,650.00 - $118,675.00 per year. Travel locally throughout Northern Virginia is required. This role supports a Federal Intelligence Community customer's occupational health and wellness program by creating, implementing, and leading health, wellness, and fitness programs.

What you'll do

• Develop, lead, assist and deliver health and wellbeing briefings, workshops, events, and seminars
• Provide health and wellbeing consultations and services to individuals, including fitness goal setting and customized fitness programs
• Provide individuals and group fitness participants with enhanced knowledge of exercise, body alignment and exercise safety
• Support the planning, management, and evaluation of fitness programs and equipment
• Perform administrative tasks, such as fitness facility oversight and equipment assessment
• Attend meetings and provide written, weekly activity reports
• Serve as substitute if primary instructor is unable to teach a group exercise class.

What we're looking for

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Experience

Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance. Active personal training certification from at least one of the following: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or equivalent certification. Active CPR and AED certification. 5 years of work experience as a health fitness specialist or exercise physiologist setting fitness goals, and planning/managing customized fitness programs.
