Eligibility Specialist – Head Start

The Eligibility Specialist – Head Start role is onsite in Lewiston, Maine. Pay is $21.38–$24.76 per hour. Promise Early Education Center provides early education and Pre-K services to children from six weeks to five years through home-based and center programs across Androscoggin County. The specialist oversees eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance activities. The role conducts and maintains intakes, tracks eligibility and enrollment data, follows up with families, develops recruitment plans, and coordinates with community partners so program outreach and enrollment reflect community needs.

What you'll do

• Conduct and process intake and eligibility applications
• verify age, residency, and income
• maintain eligibility, selection, enrollment, and intake data
• inform families of eligibility and waitlist status
• develop and oversee recruitment plans
• report program status to leadership
• build relationships with agencies and community members
• attend recruitment and community events
• analyze community and program reports to guide outreach.
