Family Educator — Abuse Prevention Facilitator

The Family Educator — Abuse Prevention Facilitator role is onsite in Orem, UT, with presentations at schools throughout Family Haven’s service area. Compensation is not specified. Family Haven is a nonprofit focused on family education and the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. The educator delivers age-appropriate lessons that help students build personal safety, self-advocacy, healthy relationship, communication, and well-being skills. The role also coordinates with school and community partners and supports program documentation and improvement to advance the organization’s education and prevention work.

What you'll do

• Deliver PROTECT and other approved curricula to elementary and secondary students
• coordinate school presentations and build relationships with teachers, school personnel, and community partners
• create age-appropriate learning experiences
• complete program documentation, evaluations, and reporting
• assist with curriculum updates and program improvement
• participate in outreach, community events, meetings, and training
• provide occasional parenting education or other Education Department support as needed.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Spanish proficiency and experience working with children or youth and presenting educational content are preferred. Reliable transportation is required, and mileage is reimbursed.
