The Flight Dynamicist is an onsite role based in San Diego, CA, supporting the Defense Systems Advanced Development Organization. Compensation for this position ranges from $87,100 to $157,450 per year, contributing to Leidos' engineering solutions for defense and space missions. This role exists to support modeling and simulation development, conceptual design, and vehicle development for missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and satellites. The Flight Dynamicist performs detailed analysis of flexible and rigid body simulations, trajectory analysis, and optimization studies to ensure mission effectiveness.

What you'll do

• Develop and analyze 3DOF and 6DOF flight dynamics models.
• Perform trajectory design and optimization for hypersonic and space systems.
• Design and validate GNC algorithms.
• Conduct aerodynamic and propulsion sensitivity analyses.
• Support flight test planning and post-flight reconstruction.
