What you'll do

• Purchase raw materials at the lowest possible price while maintaining quality standards
• issue purchase orders and coordinate deliveries with manufacturing needs, supplier lead times, and optimal order quantities
• communicate with manufacturing personnel to resolve delivery, quality, and price problems
• coordinate with supplier representatives and contract carriers
• maintain product quality requirements and resolve supplier issues
• drive cost improvement, inventory reduction, quality improvement, payment-term improvement, and supplier consolidation KPIs
• develop commodity expertise.
