Peer Support Specialist

Drawing on lived experience as a behavioral health system consumer or family member, the specialist provides coaching, mentoring, and role modeling to help enrolled members build recovery skills and greater independence in the community. The role also coordinates with clinical colleagues, supports access to services, and completes required documentation.

What you'll do

• Help enrolled members use the service delivery system by supporting care planning, identifying needs, accessing supports, partnering with professional staff, and addressing barriers. Model recovery principles and support coping, self-advocacy, natural supports, and community living
• teach recovery tools such as WRAP when qualified
• coordinate client activities and supervision
• communicate client progress with the clinical team
• complete clinical documentation.

Requires lived experience as a behavioral health system consumer or family member, a high school diploma or GED, Peer Support Training Course completion and passing Recovery Competency Test, Arizona fingerprint clearance, and CPR and first aid certification. Crisis to Care Intervention training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
