The Senior DevOps Engineer role is hybrid in San Diego, CA. Compensation is $134,000–$180,000 per year. The engineer joins AoPS’s Platform Group, which owns infrastructure, developer experience, and core services supporting the company’s learning products. AoPS’s mission is to discover, inspire, and train the next generation of problem solvers. The engineer builds and operates the platform that supports lessons, live classes, and practice problems for hundreds of thousands of students. The role improves observability, reliability, security, and developer tooling, enabling engineering teams to deliver changes safely and respond effectively to incidents.

What you'll do

• Lead observability work by building logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
• work with product engineers to define service metrics and SLOs
• operate and evolve the production Kubernetes platform
• design CI/CD pipelines and self-service tools
• lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-mortems
• identify stability risks in application designs
• shape engineering standards and mentor through code reviews
• explore ways AI can improve infrastructure and engineering effectiveness.
