Physician – Nephrology

Job overview

The Physician – Nephrology role is an onsite, full-time position in Port Jefferson, NY. Compensation is $200,000–$300,000 per year. The physician joins a nephrology practice alongside one other nephrologist and two nurse practitioners. What you'll do

• Diagnose and treat nephrology conditions including kidney disease, kidney failure, diabetic disorders, and hypertension
• obtain histories, perform examinations, and order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
• evaluate results and provide preventive and acute care
• develop and implement patient care plans
• educate and counsel patients
• prescribe medications
• document examinations and progress in the electronic medical record and provide referral letters as needed
• monitor and report patient outcomes
• follow HIPAA guidelines and evidence-based practices
• oversee clinical office staff and learners
• meet stated quality benchmarks
• build a patient population base.
