The Lead Counselor, Detox role is onsite in Portland, ME. Pay is $29–$32 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates paid in installments. Milestone Recovery’s mission is to provide compassionate services to people experiencing substance use disorders, mental illnesses, and homelessness. The role provides direct treatment and leads counseling services for detox clients. It supports client care through assessment, treatment planning, referrals, group services, clinical supervision, and staff development, while contributing to an interdisciplinary treatment team.

What you'll do

• Provide direct treatment services
• screen and complete intake, psychosocial assessment, disposition, treatment planning, and referrals
• run groups for detox clients
• assess and implement counseling department care
• maintain confidential records and reports
• transport and accompany patients to community providers as applicable
• provide clinical supervision and sign appropriate paperwork
• interview candidates, train and onboard staff, manage performance and team scheduling.
