What you'll do
- Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including Computed Tomography procedures, and is responsible for safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients. Participates in CQI activities. Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients. Determines the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures. Works under the direction of the Radiologist at all times. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general population. Must be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations. Has knowledge of hospital policies and functions of other departments. Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers in an age appropriate manner. Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions. Completes annual educational requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Reports to work on time and as scheduled

Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. A high level of cross-sectional anatomy. Proficiency with most major CT equipment manufacturers’ hardware and software.
