The Culinary Cook role is onsite in Conroe, TX, in a post-acute setting. Pay is $16–$22 per hour. The role supports food production for patients and the culinary team at The Brightpointe, part of PureHealth. The cook prepares consistent, quality food while following recipes and dietary needs, and maintains safe food handling and sanitation practices. Accurate preparation, temperature records, and coordination with culinary staff help ensure meals meet facility standards and are delivered to patients appropriately.

What you'll do

• Prepare food consistently according to recipes and presentation standards
• apply knife skills and cooking techniques
• use kitchen equipment safely
• label, date, and rotate products
• maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• assist, train, and guide prep cooks and culinary staff
• monitor inventory, requisitions, and par levels
• review upcoming menus and special diets
• record food temperatures three times daily
• complete daily cleaning lists
• follow HIPAA policies for protected health information.

Why this role

The post-acute facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; weekend and holiday shifts are required. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of culinary experience or culinary training, one year in a cook/chef role, and a ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate.
