The Behavioral Health Technician, Acute role is onsite in St. Louis, MO, at the KVC Missouri Children’s Mental Wellness Campus. Compensation starts at $20.66 per hour, with shift differentials of $1 per hour for 3 p.m.–11 p.m., $1.50 per hour for 11 p.m.–7 a.m., and $2 per hour for the Friday 7 p.m.–Monday 7 a.m. schedule. The campus partnership is developing youth mental health and wellness services, including a 77-bed acute care hospital and outpatient programs. The technician supports youth in a therapeutic setting by helping implement treatment plans, monitoring behavior, and assisting with daily activities. The role contributes to a safe, structured, trauma-informed environment and works with the treatment team to support client progress and well-being.
What you'll do
- Provide individualized care aligned with treatment plans
- review client histories and document interventions
- model healthy behaviors and coping skills
- maintain a safe, structured, trauma-informed environment
- support group activities and skill-building
- assist with crisis intervention using approved de-escalation techniques
- complete documentation and reports
- collaborate with the treatment team
- assist with meals, transportation, and recreation
- administer medications and basic first aid per guidelines with nursing support
- maintain facility cleanliness and safety
- attend training and team meetings.
