What you'll do

• Assess patients’ and significant others’ understanding of disease processes and surgical intervention
• provide perioperative teaching
• manage and intervene in perioperative care
• perform preoperative assessments, review surgeon preference cards, assess equipment and supply needs, and prepare the operating room
• provide care across age groups
• administer medications safely
• position patients appropriately
• perform surgical preparation
• handle equipment and specimens according to policy
• ensure emergency supplies are available
• keep surgical suites clean, organized, and stocked
• participate in medical-records QAPI and quality improvement
• maintain professional relationships with physicians and patients.
