What you'll do

• Negotiate vendor terms, prices, payment, and freight
• maintain inventory levels and turns
• evaluate supplier price, quality, and delivery
• resolve product quality issues
• review back orders and update purchase-order dates
• create purchase orders based on demand and MRP
• expedite deliveries and address shortages
• source vendors
• provide technical assistance to customer service, territory managers, and warehouse
• maintain pricing catalogs and forecasts
• support packaging, labeling, obsolete-parts reduction, and engineering changes
• and mentor or train Buyer I and II employees. Overseas purchasing may be assigned.
