Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant role is onsite in Bossier City, LA, with compensation of $80,000–$95,000 per year plus an 8% bonus. The role supports a leading wellhead manufacturing company. The accountant manages monthly close and cost accounting analysis, producing reconciliations and reports that help the business understand manufacturing costs, inventory, and gross margin. The work also includes monitoring inventory and fixed-asset activity to support accurate financial reporting.

What you'll do

• Conduct monthly close activities, post journal entries, and prepare balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations
• analyze and communicate manufacturing variances
• prepare gross margin and inventory reports
• reconcile Cost of Goods Sold and Inventory accounts
• calculate inventory obsolescence provisions
• monitor absorption
• perform freight and tariff analysis
• analyze Construction in Progress and fixed-asset additions and disposals.
