Machinist III — CNC and Manual Machining

Job overview

The Machinist III role is onsite in Elmira, NY, with various shifts. Compensation is $30.00–$38.00 per hour for first shift and $34.50–$43.70 per hour for second shift. The Machining department supports Forkardt Hardinge’s precision manufacturing and tooling solutions. This experienced machinist independently sets up, operates, proves out, and troubleshoots CNC and/or manual machines. The role helps maintain production quality and continuity by inspecting parts, resolving machine and tooling issues, and supporting process improvement while mentoring less experienced machinists.

What you'll do

• Set up, operate, prove out, make minor program edits to, and troubleshoot CNC and/or manual machines
• inspect machined parts using measurement tools
• address production interruptions and machine or tooling issues
• mentor and train less experienced machinists
• collaborate on production process improvements
• maintain safety, quality, production standards, and an organized work area.
