The Academic Coach role is onsite in Buffalo, NY. Pay is $20–$22 per hour. Journey’s End Refugee Services partners with Buffalo Public Schools through the Refugee School Impact Program to help refugee and immigrant students and families adjust to the local school system and pursue academic goals. The coach serves as a bridge between families and schools, providing Arabic language support, school orientation, academic assistance, and outreach. The role helps reduce barriers to educational success and connects families with school and community resources.

What you'll do

• Provide Arabic language support, sight translation, and interpretation in classrooms
• support enrollment, orientations, problem-solving, crisis management, immunization verification, transportation, remote schooling access, advocacy, and homework assistance
• conduct home visits and assess student needs
• help plan and implement academic and orientation programs
• collaborate with school social workers
• interpret at parent meetings and school events
• help parents understand and access educational services
• document services and collect enrollment paperwork.
