The Lead Diesel Technician / Shop Foreman role is onsite in Duxbury and Moretown, VT. Starting pay is $40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. First Student provides student transportation and says its employees help transport students and passengers safely. The role combines hands-on vehicle maintenance with shop leadership to support fleet readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance. The foreman coordinates workflow, oversees diagnostics and repairs, develops technicians, and works with location and maintenance leadership to keep vehicles available and maintenance work accurate and timely.

What you'll do

• Lead daily shop workflow and assign work
• conduct shop huddles
• oversee complex diagnostics and repairs
• perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• train and coach technicians
• coordinate fleet maintenance and vehicle availability
• manage parts and inventory
• maintain repair documentation
• monitor safety and regulatory compliance
• communicate fleet status and repair needs to management.
