The Assistant Manager role is onsite in Chicago, IL, and pays $19–$22 per hour plus tips. Playa Bowls’ mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using fresh, high-quality ingredients while providing an in-store brand experience. Working with the shop manager, the assistant manager supports daily restaurant operations, team training, customer service, product quality, inventory, scheduling, and compliance. The role helps maintain service and operating standards and may fill in for the general manager during an extended absence.

What you'll do

• Check product quality

• monitor food preparation and presentation
• schedule staff and assign duties
• review procedures for service, performance, and safety improvements
• assist with food preparation and service
• maintain inventory and records
• monitor health and fire compliance
• order supplies
• train and evaluate employees
• support recruiting
• coordinate equipment maintenance and services
• operate the POS and cash register
• make bank deposits
• maintain records and opening and closing procedures
• fill in for the general manager during an extended absence.
