The Apprentice Fire Sprinkler Inspector is a full-time, field-based trainee role in Saint Paul, MN, paying $18–$25 per hour. FSS Technologies installs, inspects, tests, and services fire protection and security systems to help protect people and property. Working under a qualified inspector, the apprentice helps inspect, test, and maintain water-based fire protection systems, document results, report deficiencies, follow safety procedures, and complete training toward NICET Level I certification. The role supports reliable system readiness while respecting apprentice licensing limits.

What you'll do

  • Assist with scheduled inspections, tests, and maintenance of sprinkler systems, standpipes, and fire pumps
  • visually inspect system components
  • help conduct drain, alarm, valve, dry-pipe, and fire-pump tests
  • perform directed minor maintenance within apprentice limits
  • coordinate testing and system restoration with building contacts and monitoring companies
  • document results and deficiencies
  • follow safety procedures
  • drive between job sites
  • complete assigned training and work toward NICET Level I certification.
