What you'll do

• Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles.
• Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise.
• Utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards.
• Performs testing to evaluate resident status and provide care.
• Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively in emergent situations.
• Ensures health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Contributes to resident assessment.
• Administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
• Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel.
• Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality.
• Counsels residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.

Education

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program

Experience

3 months experience in Long Term Care required
