The Principal Engineer, NPU Architect is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX, with compensation not specified. This role exists to drive the architectural definition and hardware implementation of high-performance Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for automotive high-performance compute. The architect will bridge hardware and software co-design to optimize performance.

What you'll do

• Define and own end-to-end NPU micro-architecture.
• Partner with compiler and software teams on ISA and memory management.
• Architect hardware-assisted virtualization.
• Design high-bandwidth bus fabrics.
• Lead definition of SoC infrastructure elements.
• Develop performance models.
• Oversee transition from architectural spec to RTL.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (PhD desirable)

Experience

12+ years in AI accelerator, NPU, or GPU hardware architecture and RTL design.
