Alcohol and Drug Counselor Trainee – Outpatient Programs

The Alcohol and Drug Counselor Trainee role is based in Minnetonka, MN, with services across Minnetonka and New Brighton; approximately 50% of services are delivered virtually. Compensation is $29–$33 per hour. EOSIS provides evidence-based treatment and recovery support. The trainee delivers chemical-health education, assessments, and therapeutic interventions under supervision, supporting clients in achieving and maintaining recovery. The role contributes through counseling, documentation, care coordination, and collaboration across outpatient programs.

What you'll do

• Learn and perform screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, recordkeeping, and professional consultation
• coordinate treatment and community resources
• support payer authorization and funding processes
• maintain a temporary license
• attend staff meetings and training
• work under supervisor direction.

Why this role

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; approximately 50% of services are virtual. A temporary permit from the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy is required.
