Safety Security Officer

The Safety Security Officer role is onsite at Bob’s Place in Jamaica, NY. Pay is $19.65 per hour. The officer helps protect clients, staff, and property at a homeless shelter through facility rounds, access screening, incident response, crisis de-escalation, and required documentation. The role also supports client intakes, monitors surveillance and fire systems, and assists with fire procedures and evacuations when needed.

What you'll do

• Inspect client rooms
• escort clients to appointments as needed
• monitor client behavior and encourage compliance with facility policies
• screen clients and visitors at the entrance
• de-escalate and document crises
• make hourly facility rounds
• respond to incidents
• assist with intakes
• log and store client property
• complete logs and incident reports
• make calls to first responders as directed
• perform operations desk and receptionist duties
• monitor surveillance and fire systems
• support fire procedures and evacuations.
